Job SummaryPosition Type: Field Technician

Location: Country Club Hills, IL area for this Position (Companywide we cover the greater Chicagoland/Milwaukee areas at both residential and commercial locations.)

Status of Employment: Full-Time, Year-Round, FLSA Non-Exempt

Compensation: $55,000-$75,000

Benefit Package Includes: Vacation, holiday, health Insurance, dental and vision insurance, 401k with company match, employee assistance program.

Essential Functions:

  • Serves existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily travel schedule; investigating customer concerns; conducting tests; resolving problems.
  • Establishes service by studying system requirements; ordering and gathering components and parts; completing installation; performing acceptance tests.
  • Service, diagnose, prognose and repair fitness products including, but not limited to: treadmills, ellipticals, stair climbers, stationary bikes, weight machines, etc.
  • Maintains rapport with customers by examining concerns; identifying solutions; suggesting improved methods and techniques; recommending system improvements.
  • Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
  • Documents service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records via smartphone app.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in continuing education opportunities; reading professional publications and participating in staff trainings.
  • Complete work with a high level of accuracy and efficiency

Qualifications:

Education: High School Degree or GED required; completions of an accredited technical trade school or program preferred

Skills: Electronic and Mechanical Troubleshooting, Analyzing Information, Judgment, Client Relationships, Equipment Maintenance, Reporting Skills, Confidentiality, Quality Focus, Results Driven, Supply Management, Informing Others

Experience:

  • Prior experience is NOT required; an excellent training and certification program is available
  • Military experience a plus

Abilities:

  • Repair machinery with assorted hand and power tools
  • Work independently with optimal time management skills and minimal supervision
  • Read parts/exploded/electrical diagrams
  • Diagnose mechanical, electronic and electrical problems
  • Organize and integrate priorities and deadlines
  • Communicate and collaborate with customers, office staff and manufacturers
  • Remain professional in personal appearance and interactions
  • Maintain professional vehicle appearance
  • Kneel for extended periods of time and lift at least 100 lbs. and be in good physical shape

Hours/Working Environment: Technician will be working out of their own vehicle 95% of the time and in both residential and commercial environments. Attendance at company meetings (during normal business hours) will be required. Appointments are scheduled Monday through Friday, 8am – 6pm. No Weekends or Holidays.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must have own working, well-kept vehicle and current auto-insurance
  • Must have all needed hand tools. (All are available at most hardware stores; specialty tools will be provided)
  • In good physical health, with professional appearance
  • Must submit to a reference check and employment verification
  • Must submit to a criminal background check
  • We are a drug-free company. Must submit to pre-employment, random and reasonable suspicion drug-screen.
  • Provide verification of education
  • Provide copy of trade license(s) and license renewals as required
  • Provide copy of certification(s) and certificate renewals as required
  • Provide drivers abstract
  • Provide copy of driver’s license
  • Complete six-month introductory period

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
